The Swedish Commission for Shoreland Protection and Management

Shoreland protection and management applies to coastal areas, lakes, waterways and islands throughout Sweden.

In general shoreland is defined as extending from 100 metres inland to 100 metres out from the waterline, but this can be extended up to 300 metres in both directions in certain cases.

Within this area certain activities are restricted, such as building construction.
